Europe - September 2014 - Post 4

We boarded on time, which I'm sure is due to the significant German influence on this Delta flight.  The gang wanted one last quick picture before we took off.  ZenKitty thinks shes going to really like International Business Class flying, Ninguin wants to check out the games on the inflight entertainment system, and Mel wants to just go to sleep and wake up in Germany.  Oh, and I have a presentation to do, a disaster recovery workshop to create and a position description to write, plus several hours of films to watch if I get board.

And on that note, see you again when we land tomorrow morning in Frankfurt.

Europe - September 2014 - Post 3

While we've got a bit of time here in the SkyClub I wanted to formally introduce my three traveling companions.

First we have Dame Zen Kitty Of the Royal House of Blark, or ZenKitty for short.

Next is the world famous German Ninja Penguin Hiens Von Hansundfeet, or Ninguin for short.

And finally is Mel the Pink, who's really in charge although ZenKitty thinks she is.

So thats the gang for the trip this time, and me of course, although I'll be more of your guide and narrator.   Here's a final look at our friends as they wait for our flight to Germany.

Europe - September 2014 - Post 2 - ATL

Well we made it to ATL and only 40 minutes late.  For Delta that is considered early.  On the flight up you'll never guess what was flying beside the plane...yep, one of those flying red monkeys!

And in more unexplained Delta/ATL phenomenon I'm apparently flying out of the old international terminal (E) instead of the shinny new international terminal (F), even there is a Lufthansa flight leaving for FRA from there at EXACTLY THE SAME TIME!  So it seems flying the so-called dominate airline doesn't really get you anything, yet again.

I decided to grab some lunch before heading to the SkyClub, and it was a thankfully uneventful meal. So at this point I have about three hours before the flight to FRA so I could either go over to F and check out the new International SkyClub and then trek back to E, or just stay at E and the pedestrian SkyClub they have here.   I decided to stay at E.  Stay tuned for more in the next post...

Europe - September 2014 - Post 1

As usual Delta has proven incapable yet again of getting a plane where its going on time, which is why I intentionally buffered nearly five hours between flights in ATL (let's see if they can mess that up...probably jinxed it, dang).   I'll introduce my traveling companions in more detail during the stop in ATL but for now here's a quick picture of Zen Kitty.

I think she's trying to figure out how water is supposed to filter through something  that is impermeable...maybe Delta engineers designed it?
